with this betterDiscord plugin, you can now select a stereo input device.

why isn't this a feature in discord already? no idea!
it's a frustration for many users that discord does not have an option to select a stereo input device. stereo sound greatly enhances the audio quality, making it a much more immersive and enjoyable experience. We hope that discord will eventually add this feature to their platform, but until then, stereodiscord is here to fill the gap.

how to install

1. make sure you have betterdiscord installed.
2. download the latest version of stereodiscord
3. open discord's user settings.
4. go to betterdiscord plugins section.
5. click on 'open plugins folder'.
6. drag the stereodiscord.plugin.js file inside the folder.
7. confirm and wait for zerespluginlibrary to download and install.
8. enable stereodiscord and zerespluginlibrary plugins.
9. command/ctrl + r to restart discord.
10. enjoy

please note to ensure proper functionality, it's necessary to manually disable echo cancellation and noise suppression in the voice & video advanced settings.

obs setup

1. install obs and vb-cable
2. on obs settings > audio > advanced, set the monitoring device to 'cable input (vb-audio virtual cable)'
3. in the edit menu > advanced audio properties, set all the sources you want to send the audio signal over to discord to 'monitor', and if you plan to also record, set them to 'monitor and output'
4. on discord user settings & voice & video, set input device to 'cable output (vb-audio virtual cable)'
5. set input sensitivity to manual and adjust to your preference
6. all set!

vb-cable is just an option, feel free to pick whichever option suits you best.
